Everywhere you go, a hotel room feels like a hotel room. Alphen decided to break the mould.

The walls are worked in layered panel mouldings, set at heights chosen for the proportions of each room. Simple profiles, stacked. The result is depth and shadow rather than decoration, and a guest room that reads as a room in a house.

Every profile was cast by hand at the Plaster Art workshop in Cape Town and installed on site.
